What is Carbon Neutrality?

Carbon Neutrality is the state of having no net emissions impact on the atmosphere. We can get there by reducing our emissions as much as possible, and then offsetting or sequestering the rest. Read more on Wikipedia.

Project Porchlight

Carbon Neutral Albany is considering a campaign to switch out porch lights in Albany.

If every household in just Albany switched out one incandescent light bulb with a CFL (compact florescent light), the greenhouse gas savings would be equivalent to taking 60 cars off of the road for each year the CFLs last.

There is a non-profit organization that has developed a program for just this type of campaign:
Project Porchlight.
